Plasco builds, owns and operates Plasco Conversion System facilities that use our proprietary world-leading technology to convert municipal household, commercial or industrial waste into green power and other valuable products. The company has more than 125 employees from engineering to plant delivery and we're growing fast. Led by an experienced team of senior executives Plasco knows how to deliver successful projects that earn the support of the whole community. Plasco works to assume all risk so that municipalities don't have to. Our facilities charge competitive tipping fees for the waste they receive and also generate revenue from the sale of premium green electricity. By converting waste into valuable products it costs communities less to manage garbage. Plasco makes it easy for communities to choose change. The Plasco Conversion System is the result of thirty years of experience with plasma technologies. Decades of research and development have been invested to develop breakthrough performance both economically and environmentally. Since 1986 we have operated research facilities in Ottawa and Spain where our process has been continuously tested and refined. Our 100 tonne-per-day commercial scale demonstration plant began operation in Ottawa in the fall of 2007. Private investment in Plasco in the last three years has totaled $90 million. The company received $9.5 million in funding from Sustainable Development Technologies Canada and a $4 million loan from the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation. |

Published since 1959, it is the only national engineering magazine in Canada that covers all engineering disciplines and all geographic regions. The feature articles focus on innovative and high profile engineering projects, ranging from civil works in transportation (highways, airports, bridges, etc.), to water treatment plants and sewage works, to hydroelectric dams and power generation. On a smaller scale, we look at building construction, including structures, mechanical and electrical systems, energy management and building controls. We also periodically feature site planning and environmental remediation, industrial processes and controls -- in short, we cover the myriad world of engineering in Canada. Business articles and departments investigate techniques for improving management practices, construction law and financial issues. We also run features investigating problems and controversies of the day as they affecting engineering companies and individual engineers. The most popular issue every year is in the fall when we have the Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards, a prestigious annual program held by the magazine in association with the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada. |

Novæ Res Urbis (pronounced nov-eye rays er-bis, a term roughly translated from Latin as "News of the City") was first published in June 1997, six months before the amalgamation of the seven municipalities of Metropolitan Toronto into the new City of Toronto. The newsletter was conceived by Ian Graham and Bruce Davis based on a belief that with amalgamation would come, not only change, but confusion—the newsletter was to provide up-to-date information on the evolving new city structure and its regular activities, including planning and development matters. By June 1998, NRU published its first GTA newsletter, originally known as GTA/905 Municipal News and later as Novæ Res Urbis Greater Toronto Area Edition. Since then, NRU has provided over ten years of detailed coverage on key developments and issues affecting Toronto and the GTA, and has become an important information source for decision-makers dealing with municipal issues. |

We are a national, bi-monthly business magazine that profiles the design, construction, financing models, management methods and leading-edge technologies behind infrastructure renewal in Canada. Each magazine reaches over 30,000 business professionals that spend, specify or recommend capital investments for public works and community building projects across the country. Infrastructure is obviously becoming a hot topic in the media. With bridges collapsing and water mains breaking at alarming rates, the media at large is covering the infrastructure gap with increasing regularity. As Canada's premier source of infrastructure-related news and commentary, ReNew Canada is often a resource for journalists across the country. So here is our scrapbook, our e-clippings if you will. |

The TSA is the local Chapter of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA), which is the licensing and regulatory body that governs the practice of architecture in Ontario. The TSA plays an advocacy role in the City, ensuring that architecture and design are key considerations in public discussions and in processes that have an impact on our urban environment. The TSA has effectively lobbied civic governments, participated in civic improvement councils, assisted in the writing of building by-laws, and offered professional views on urban issues. Monthly urban forums, typically held the first Tuesday of every month, focus on key urban and architecture issues that engage invited panelists from different disciplines, our membership and interested guests. The TSA organizes and sponsors a wide variety of initiatives including exhibitions, publications, competitions, forums, film series and celebrations that engage the architectural profession, its sister disciplines, and the public. An elected Executive, comprised of volunteers, undertakes and directs these initiatives throughout the year. We strive to promote and advance the role of architecture and design in Toronto's dynamic community. |
